Bible Study – Singing the Psalms
July 29 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
For over three thousand years people have been singing, praying and meditating on the Psalms. For centuries, believers have rejoiced in the Psalms, repented through them and found immense comfort in them. Jesus memorized them and sang them in the upper room with his disciples. The book of Psalms is the Christian’s hymnal.
Pastor Doug Parsons will offer an eight-session study of the Psalms. It will be presented at Washington First Methodist Church from June 2-to July 29 on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning at 10:00 am.
In this Bible study, we will learn:
- Insights about the history, cultural context and the use of poetry that will make the Psalms even more helpful and fascinating
- To use the Psalms as a tool for prayer, worship, expression and support in our lives today.
- To better understand the Psalms and their function in the bible
Tuesdays: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesdays: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
